I prefer the white sangria to the red. The white is light and fresh and the red is a little heavier and sweeter... both really great recipes, just depends on what you are in the mood for.

Ingredients For sangria (red and white)

  • TRADITIONAL RED
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 2 bottle
    750ml dry red wine
  • 1/2 c
    orange juice
  • 1/2 c
    peach nectar
  • 1/4 c
    orange liqueur
  • 2-3 c
    chilled club soda
  • 1
    lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1
    lime, thinly sliced
  • 1
    orange, thinly sliced
  • 1
    granny smith apple, thinly sliced
  • SANGRIA BLANCO
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 2 bottle
    dry white wine
  • 1 c
    orange liqueur
  • 2-3 c
    lemon-lime soda
  • 1 pt
    fresh strawberries
  • 2
    lemons, thinly sliced
  • 2
    limes, thinly sliced
  • 2
    oranges, thinly sliced
  • 3/4 c
    mint leaves, loosely packed

How To Make sangria (red and white)

  • 1
    Bring sugar and 1 1/4 cups water to a boil in a saucepan over med-high heat, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let stand 10 min.

    Combine sugar mixture, wine, juices and liqueur in a large container, cover and refrigerate 4 hours. Stir in soda and next 4 ingredients just before serving. If making blanco recipe, add mint leaves.

    Serve over ice, if desired.
