Ingredients For kahlua, homemade

  • 4 c
    water
  • 4 c
    granulated sugar
  • 3/4 c
    dry instant coffee (fresh jar)
  • 4 c
    vodka (bottom shelf is fine)
  • 1
    fresh vanilla bean
  • 2 Tbsp
    almond extract

How To Make kahlua, homemade

    Boil water and sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat.

    Add coffee granules slowly, continually stirring.

    Add vodka. Slit vanilla bean with a knife and add to mixture.

    Cover tightly and shake or stir each day for about three weeks--it really is better if you wait, but...
