Ingredients For aunt mae's rice pudding

  • 1/2 c
    rice, uncooked
  • 3 1/4 c
    water, cold
  • 12 oz
    evaporated milk
  • 1
    egg beaten
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter, cold
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt

How To Make aunt mae's rice pudding

    place rice in cold water in saucepan. Cook until done.

    Do not drain water.

    Add evaporated milk, egg, butter,vanilla & sugar to rice.

    Cook until slightly thickened.

    Pour into casserole dish and let stand 15-20, stir

    Add raisins(if desired) Sprinkle with cinnamon.

    May be served warm or cold(as desired) with a dollop of whipped cream.
