This is a delicious chocolate pie that I remember my mother making from the time I could remember such things. I'm sure she made up the recipe herself.

granulated sugar
1 pinch

salt
2 c

milk
7 Tbsp

cocoa, unsweetened
5 Tbsp

sifted all-purpose flour

1 tsp

How To Make my mother's chocolate pie

Cook sugar, salt, milk, cocoa, flour, and egg yolks in double boiler until thick.

Add vanilla and butter. Pour into baked pie crust.

Most of the time, Mother made a meringue from the egg whites and browned the pie in the oven. Later in life, she used either real whipped cream or Cool Whip instead, and I liked that just as much. Easier!
