This is a really good pie, especially when served still a little warm with vanilla ice cream. I don't remember where the recipe came from, I have had it for more that 45 years.

Ingredients For fudge pie

  • 1
    unbaked 9" pie shell
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    butter or margarine
  • 2
    egg yolks, reserve whites
  • 2 oz
    chocolate, unsweetened (2 squares, 1 oz each)
  • 1/3 c
    sifted flour
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2
    egg whites
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt

How To Make fudge pie

  • 1
    Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees.

    Melt chocolate in double boiler or microwave oven. Allow to cool.

    Sift flour.
  • 4
    Cream butter until soft.
  • 5
    Blend sugar into the creamed butter.
  • 6
    Beat egg yolks, vanilla and melted, cooled chocolate into butter and sugar mixture.

    Add sifted flour. Mix well.

    Whip egg whites and salt until stiff. Fold into mixture.

    Pour into unbaked 9" pie crust. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Delicious served warm with vanilla ice cream.
