This recipe brings back memories of my Grandpa taking me to the truck stop restaurant, and getting me strawberry pie like this, when I was a kid...

Ingredients For fantastic fresh strawberry pie

1 qtfresh strawberries

1 cwater
-
2 Tbspcorn starch

1 Tbspstrawberry jello powder

few drops red food coloring

1baked pie shell
-
1tub of cool whip

1 csugar
How To Make fantastic fresh strawberry pie

1Wash and remove the stems from the berries, and let drain. (I leave them whole for the Pie)

2Place the water, sugar and cornstarch in a sauce pan; bring to a boil and cook until glossy, stirring constantly (about 2 minutes). Remove from heat.

3Add strawberry jello powder, and a few drops of red food coloring. cool. Fold in the strawberries and place in baked pie shell.. refrigerate. Serve with a dab of whipped cream... Enjoy!
