This wonderful pie recipe came from my aunt in KY who passed away a few years ago. When my mom or I bake it, we always mention her.

Ingredients For chess pie

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    cornmeal
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 5
    egg yolks (use whites for meringue)
  • 1/2 c
    margarine
  • 1 c
    cream

How To Make chess pie

  • 1
    Mix sugar, flour and meal together. Cream margarine and gradually add sugar/flour meal mixture to it. Beat egg yolks and cream together. Add to dry ingredients. Pour into unbaked pie crust.

    Bake at 375 for 15 minutes to set crust. Turn oven down to 325 and bake for 45 minutes until golden brown.

    Use 5 egg whites for meringue.
