Some pecan pies are just too sweet, some are a bit bland and some are just waxy tasting. This pie is smooth tasting and rich, a pecan pie that is just perfect! I found this recipe in an old blue ribbon winner cookbook so I hope it is a blue ribbon winner in your house, too! It is in mine. I served it for CHRISTmas Eve dinner and several people remarked how good it is! Yum!

Ingredients For catherine's pecan pie

  • 1 Tbsp
    flour, all purpose
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    light corn syrup
  • 1/4 c
    half and half, fat free (can use whole milk)
  • 2
    eggs, beaten slightly
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, melted (kerrygold is best)
  • 1 1/2 c
    pecans, chopped
  • 1
    unbaked pie shell

How To Make catherine's pecan pie

  • 1
    Mix together flour and sugar; stir in remaining ingredients and blend thoroughly. Pour into unbaked pie crust. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 1 hour or until pie is set and firm. Top with whipped cream or cool whip.
