My husband loves this pie! I had a can of Apple Pie filling in the pantry and some pears that were beginning to go bad, in the refrigerator... so I thought Hmmmmmmmm maybe I can make an Apple Pear pie. It turned out delicious!!!

Ingredients For apple/pear pie

  • 5 lg
    pears, peeled and sliced
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 can
    apple pie filling
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • PIE CRUST
  • 2 1/4 c
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    butter, melted
  • 1/2 c
    canola oil
  • 6 Tbsp
    ice water
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • REFRIGERATE PIE CRUST DOUGH FOR 1 HOUR BEFORE YOU ROLL IT OUT!

How To Make apple/pear pie

    Peel and slice pears to desired size.

    Melt butter in a frying pan. Add brown sugar and cinnamon and salt. Cook the pears for a few minutes, and then add a can of Apple Pie filling. Simmer until hot and desired consistency.

    Pour into prepared pie pan. Cover apples and pears with the second pie crust. Poke holes in top of pie crust. I like to make hearts!

    Bake in a 400 degree oven for approximately 40 minutes or less depending on how brown you like your crust! We like ours browned and crispy!
