A kid-friendly nutritious side dish. So good it could even be dessert! Also great as a topping on pancakes or waffles. At first glance this looks like a lot of butter, but when you realize this is quite a large batch that serves 12, it's not that much per serving! Keep it even healthier by choosing to sweeten with honey rather than brown sugar!

Ingredients For skillet cinnamon apples

  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 4 lb
    apples, unpeeled, cubed
  • 1/4-1/2 c
    honey or brown sugar(depending on your apples and how sweet you like it)
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornstarch

How To Make skillet cinnamon apples

    Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add cubed apples, honey or sugar and cinnamon. Pour water over.

    Cook and stir apples for a minute or two until all are evenly coated, then cover skillet and simmer apples for about 10-15 min.(depending on variety of apple), until apples are tender, but not mushy, stirring occasionially.

    Dissolve cornstarch in a small amount of cold water. Pour over apples and stir. Simmer another minute or two to thicken. Serve warm.
