Ingredients For plum and walnut crisp

  • vegetable cooking spray
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    grated lemon rind
  • 4 lb
    purple plums, pitted and quartered
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 c
    regular oats, uncooked
  • 1/4 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c
    firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 1/4 c
    chopped walnuts

How To Make plum and walnut crisp

    Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish with cooking spray.

    Combine first 3 ingredients, in a large bowl; stir well. Add plums, and toss gently to coat. Add lemon juice, and toss gently. Let stand 30 minutes.

    Combine oats, flour, and brown sugar, in a small bowl. Cut in butter, with a pastry blender, until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in walnuts.

    Spoon plum mixture into the prepared dish. Cover, and bake for 40 minutes. Sprinkle oat mixture over plums. Bake, uncovered, 15 minutes, or until lightly browned. Serve warm. Makes 12 servings.
