candied pecans
I came across this in one of my "Boxes Of A Gazillion Recipes". I don't remember making it personally but I think my mother did.

Ingredients For candied pecans

1 lbpecan halves
-
1 csugar
-
2stiffly beaten egg whites
-
1/2 cbutter
-
1 dashsalt
-
1 dashground cinnamon and/or 1 dash nutmeg

1 pinchground ginger (optional)
How To Make candied pecans

1Toast pecans @ 225º for 15 minutes.

2Combine salt & sugar and spice into egg whites which have been stiffly beaten.

3Fold in pecans & coat well.

4Melt butter in 9 by 13 pan & spread in pecans.

5Mix pecans in butter until coated.

6Bake @ 325º for 30 minutes.

7Turn pecans in butter every 10 minutes until butter is gone.
