This is so easy to make, it's just sliced oranges is a syrup. It's exotic flavor comes from being marinated in cinnamon orange-flower syrup. If you can get a mix of orange varieties it will add color interest. Start to serve time is about 2:30 hrs but it's mostly chill time.

    cinnamon stick
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    finely grated orange zest, plus strips for garnish
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    orange-flower water

    In a medium saucepan, combine the orange juice with the sugar, cinnamon, and the finely grated orange zest and bring to a boil, stirring, until the sugar is dissolved. Let cool to room temperature, then stir in the orange-flower water.

    Meanwhile, using a sharp knife, peel the oranges, removing all of the bitter white pith. Cut the oranges crosswise 1/3 inch thick and transfer to a large, shallow serving bowl.
