If you never know just what to do with leftover cranberry sauce this is a great recipe. It's an especially nice treat to whip up for overnight family guests the morning after Thanksgiving. Or if you love to use fresh cranberries instead of sauce that's good too.

Ingredients For cranberry squares

  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/3 c
    melted butter
  • 1 c
    fresh cranberries or 1/2 cup whole cranberry sauce
  • 1 tsp
    orange zest (optional)

How To Make cranberry squares

  • 1
    Beat eggs for 1 minute. Add sugar and beat for 2 minutes more.

    Whisk in flour, baking powder, and butter.

    Stir in cranberries and orange zest (optional)
  • 4
    Spread into a greased 8-inch square pan.

    Bake at 350ºF for 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool completely before cutting into 16 bars.
