  Sift the dry ingredients together.

  Cream together the shortening, butter ans sugar. Add peanut butter and mix well.

  Add the eggs and dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Add vanilla and mix well.

  Roll into 1 inch balls. Place the balls on a cookie sheet and flatten slightly with a fork.

  Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
