I was given this recipe for the Rum butter sauce from a co-worker many years ago. A fiend of mine tried this and liked it. I hope you will too.

Ingredients For williamsburg rum butter sauce

  • 1 cup brown sugar light/dark
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • rind of 1 lemon plus 1/4 - 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp brandy
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup of light rum
  • 2 tbsp dark rum,
  • mincemeat pie, pound cake or christmas pudding

How To Make williamsburg rum butter sauce

  • 1
    Blend sugar, and cornstarch together in 1 cup boiling water.

    Cook stirring over medium heat until thickened

    Add lemon rind, lemon juice, brandy, nutmeg , light and dark rum

    Cook 2 minutes, Stir
  • 5
    Serve hot over mincemeat pie, pound cake or Christmas pudding

    Makes 3 cups of sauce
