I have tried many recipes. It must have 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening or it don't work!! Did you also know it is the official cookie of October because when the cookies crack, they kinda look ghostly? True story!

shortening, butter flavor

2 tsp

cream of tartar

How To Make snickerdoodles

Heat oven to 400°. Beat sugar, shortening, butter; add eggs; mix well. Stir in rest of ingredients. Shape dough into balls. Roll in sugar mixture to coat. Bake 10-12 min. or until center is almost set 4 doz. cookies
