I found the recipe among my old recipes. I remember my daughter and I making these in the early 60's. She was just a little girl. I had written it in ink on a note pad. It was so faded and dim I almost could not read it. Thanks Noni from Hot springs for reminding me before it had indeed faded away..

Ingredients For original toll house cookies

2 csifted flour
-
1 tspbaking soda
-
1 tspsalt
-
1 cbutter, softened or shortening

1/3 cgranulated sugar
-
1/3 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1 tspvanilla
-
1/2 tspwater
-
2eggs
-
12 ozpkg of nestles simi-sweet chocolate morsels

1/2 cnuts
How To Make original toll house cookies

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees

2Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

3Combine butter or shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla,& water. Beat until creamy. Beat in eggs.

4Add flour mixture. Mix well. Stir in Nestle's Semi-sweet Chocolate Morsels and nuts.

5Drop by well rounded half teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.

6Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
