Ingredients For old fashioned strawberry oatmeal squares

2 cups crolled oats

1 csoftened butter
-
1 3/4 call purpose flour

1 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

3/4 tspcinnamon

3/4 tspsalt

1/4 tspground nutmeg

1/4 tspbaking soda
-
1/2 cchopped walnuts
-
1 cstrawberry preserves
How To Make old fashioned strawberry oatmeal squares

1Preheat oven to 400 degrees.Grease a 13/9 inch baking pan.

2Combine all ingredients except preserves in a large mixing bowl using your clean hands or a fork.Until it is crumbly.Do not over mix.

3Press all but 2 cups in bottom of greased pan.Carefully spread preserves on top.Crumble remaining mixture on top of Strawberry preserves.

4Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 25 minutes,until golden brown.Cut in to squares while still warm,then cool completely.For a nice touch sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
