Ingredients For molasses crinkles

  • 3/4 c
    shortening
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/4 c
    molasses
  • 2 1/4 c
    flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    cloves
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    ginger

How To Make molasses crinkles

    Thoroughly mix first 4 ingredients. Sift dry ingredients together and stir into wet ingredients. Chill dough.

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

    Roll dough into balls the size of large walnuts. Dip tops in granulated sugar. Place sugared side up, 3" apart, on greased or parchment paper covered cookie sheet. Sprinkle each cookie with 2-3 drops of water to produce a crackled surface. Bake 10-12 minutes, just until set but not hard.
