A recipe I know by heart. As far back as grade school I can remember making this cookies.I get asked for the recipe aften because everyone I make them for love them. Great with coffee, hot chocolate(or mexican hot chocolate) and milk. Hope you enjoy them too.

Ingredients For mexican cookies

  • 4 c
    flour
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    shortening
  • 1 c
    lard
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1
    egg
  • TOPPING
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon

How To Make mexican cookies

    Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl combine dry ingridents; flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda. In another small bowl combine egg and vanila extract. Add the shortening and the lard, as well as the egg and vanilla mixter to the flour mixter. Mix well.

    Roll into one-inch balls or use a small ice cream scope. Press with a fork criss cross. Combine the sugar and cinnoman in a small bowl. Sprinkle a small amount over each cookie before baking.

    Bake for ten to twelve mintues or untill lightly brown. Careful they burn easy. Let cool a few mintues before removing from cookie sheet. Injoy!
