How To Make lancaster oatmeal cookies

  • 1
Combine flour, brown sugar, oats, baking powder, and cinnamon in a bowl. Cut in the butter until mixture is evenly distributed.
  • 2
Chop the raisins and nuts in a food processor or blender.
  • 3
Blend the sour cream and egg together. Mix the molasses and baking soda together. Stir into sour cream mixture. Add to the flour mixture and stir into a stiff batter.
  • 4
Chill batter in freezer for 15 minutes. Shape dough into walnut-sized balls. Having slightly wet hands makes this easier.

Place cookies 2 inches apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Flatten cookies with a back of a spoon.
  • 6
Bake for 15 minutes at 375 degrees until they are a rich golden brown.
