One of my Favorite Cookies. You can leave them flat if you want.Oh and for extra added sweet dip half in melted chocolate. If you roll them drizzle chocolate over cookie by using a back and forth motion.

Ingredients For lace roll-ups

  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1 c
    almonds, chopped finely
  • 1/2 c
    corn syrup, light
  • 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 2/3 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed

How To Make lace roll-ups

    DO NOT USE SELF-RISING FLOUR

    Heat oven to 375 Degrees. Mix flour and nuts. In medium saucepan,heat corn syrup, shortening and sugar to boiling over medium heat,stirring constantly. Remove from heat; gradually stir in flour-nut mixture.

    Drop dough by teaspoonfuls about 3 inches apart onto lightly greased baking sheet. Bake only 8 or 9 cookies at a time. Bake about 5 minutes; cool 3 minutes before removing from baking sheet. While warm, carefully roll cookies into a cylindrical shape. A wooden spoon handle works well for this. If cookies harder before shaping return them to oven for just a moment.

    If not rolling cool cookies 3-5 minutes before removing from baking sheet. Cool on wire rack.
