A friend of my husband sent some of these cookies to us and I just had to have the recipe. They are so good and easy to make. Frosting is just some powder sugar mixed with little milk. Sprinkles can be added if desired. NOTE: Substitute vanilla extract with almond extract. Or do a half and half with each extract for a different taste.

Ingredients For italian cookies

  • 1/2 c
    unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 3 tsp
    baking powder

How To Make italian cookies

    Combine flour, salt and baking powder and set aside.

    Mix sugar and eggs, add melted butter and extract. Mix well.

    Add flour mixture and blend thoroughly, Refrigerate until cold enough to handle.

    Form into quarter size balls or desired shapes and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Let cool. then frost and decorate.
