This is a family favorite! Extremely soft sugar cookie. This recipe has been in our family for many generations!

Ingredients For great grandma sugar cookies

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    buttermilk plus 2 tsp soda in milk
  • 1 c
    lard
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 5 c
    approximately 5 cups flour

How To Make great grandma sugar cookies

    Roll out onto floured surface and use a pretty good sized cookie cutter to cut them out.

    375 degrees. Greased cookie sheet.
