These will remind you of the windmill cookies you loved to dunk in your milk as a child or your coffee not that so long ago. You can roll these out and cut with cookie cutters too, if you like.

Ingredients For dutch windmill cookie slices

  • 1 lb
    butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c
    dairy sour cream
  • 4 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    cloves
  • 2 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 5 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
    chopped nuts or sliced almonds

How To Make dutch windmill cookie slices

  • 1
    Mix butter, sugar and sour cream. Add dry ingredients. Mix well and form into rolls and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight. Slice 1/4 inch thickness or a little more. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375^ for 10-15 minutes. --- If rolling out for cookie chill in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Dip cutter in flour and cut in desired shapes. and bake as above.
