Raisin Mumbles was one of mom best liked cookies. One day she was making this cookie she had everything ready but she didn't have the raisins, so she used dates, every body loved them. From then on she made them with dates. ( POLISH )

Ingredients For date mumbles

  • 2 1/2 c
    dates chopped
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 3/4 c
    water
  • 3 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 3/4 c
    butter
  • 1 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1 3/4 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 1/2 c
    oats

How To Make date mumbles

    Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

    Combine first 5 ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a boil set aside

    Combine butter and dry ingredients in bowl until crumbly

    Pat half the crumb mixture into a 8 by 13 inch baking pan.

    Pour dates mixture over crumbs spreading evenly to edges.

    Pat remaining crumb mixture over top.

    Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool, cut into bars. Yield 16 to 20 bars
