I don't remember where I found this recipe. It is my 16 year old son's favorites! The are chewy and delicious. And we love the simple name..

Ingredients For brown cookies

3/4 c

shortening
1 c

sugar
1

egg, beaten
4 Tbsp

molasses
2 tsp

baking soda
2 c

flour
pinch

salt
1 tsp

ginger
1 tsp

cloves
1 tsp

cinnamon

How To Make brown cookies

Cream together shortening and sugars. Add the rest of the ingredients. Roll in balls, dip in sugar and bake in 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
