I love all 3 elements in this recipe & one evening I had the candy bar which was just a little too sweet for me that night so I picked up a couple of vanilla wafers & had a new cookie revelation. So I tried melting the candy in the m/w, caramel melted too quickly so I went to the stove top. I had to hurry because I was due at church, with fellowship meal following. Everyone wanted to know all about the new cookies. They loved them. This was just in the last couple of weeks & it's gotten harder to find the candy in the stores around here now to make them!!! Hmmmm......

    vanilla wafers
  • 6
regular milky way "simply caramel" candy bars or any kind that you like

How To Make ajams vanilla wafer surprise

  • 1
Have vanilla wafers on plate waiting to fill. Keep a cold bowl of ice water nearby to dip your fingers in, if you get hot caramel on them!!
  • 2
Cut each candy bar into 6 or 8 pieces (according to how much you want inside the stuffed cookie).
  • 3
Heat griddle on the lowest setting, you may have to heat a little & turn off & repeat as needed.
  • 4
Place candy pieces chocolate side down onto a nonstick warm griddle (flat side) for a few seconds (chocolate should be semi-melting on bottom).
  • 5
Use two cookies & turn each piece of chocolate over & as each piece is turned, top it with a vanilla wafer, pressing down slightly as you do this.
  • 6
As chocolate on bottom looks melty, take another vanilla wafer & scoop it up holding the two vanilla wafers on top & bottom.
  • 7
Use the vanilla wafers to press down the candy and give it a little swirl to kind of level it out. Let cool before letting children eat
