No matter what function I am attending this candy is always a hit. Our family reunion was no exception last year, as I made 4 batches of the recipe, and everyone loved it. It really does taste like the candy bar, and you get to take all of the praise, because they are so easy to make. The batch shown here is while they were cooling down, before they were cut into bar size logs.

Ingredients For pay day bars

  • 2 jar
    16 0z. dry roasted peanuts
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter or margarine, (i prefer butter)
  • 2 pkg
    peanut butter flavored chips
  • 2 can
    sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 c
    miniature marshmallows

How To Make pay day bars

    Grease a jelly roll size pan liberally, or use butter flavored cooking spray. Pour one jar of peanuts on bottom of pan.

    Then over low heat, melt the butter or margarine in a medium size saucepan, with peanut butter chips, add condensed milk and then marshmallows, BUT DO NOT MELT COMPLETELY.

    Pour mixture over peanuts. Grease hands liberally with butter or cooking spray, and pat down into pan, when the mixture is cool enough to do so. Add remaining jar of peanuts on top and press down with hands. Chill completely BEFORE cutting into bars or squares. Makes 36 bars, depending on size of the cuts.
  • Just made a quadruple recipe of this candy for an up coming event. It is always a big hit.c Hope I don't run out.

    NOTE: You can easily divide this recipe in half. If I have extra left over, I store them in zip lock freezer bags and put them in the freezer.
