1 tspsoda

1 Tbspvinegar

1/2 cshortening

1 1/2 csugar

2eggs
-
2 Tbspcocoa

1 ozred food color
-
2 cflour (sifted)

1 tspsalt

1 cbuttermilk

1 tspvanilla

1 cmilk

1/2 cflour

pinch of salt

1 csugar

1 tspvanilla

1/2 ccrisco
How To Make waldorf astoria cake

1Mix vinegar and soda, set aside. Cream sugar with shortening and add eggs. Make a paste of cocoa and food color and add to creamed mixture.

2Add buttermilk,salt, and flour alternately. Add vanilla then soda and vinegar.

3Beat well and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes in two well oiled and floured pans. Cool and split each layer to make 4 thin layers

4FROSTING PART 1: Cook over low flame until thickened, remove from heat and add 1 stick butter. Chill mixture.

5FROSTING PART 2: Add to first part and beat at high speed until fluffy. Ice after putting layers together. Garnish with Coconut.
