This is my basic rum cake recipe that originally uses Captain Morgan spiced rum. But with all the new flavors of rum that have appeared over the last few years, I can't help but to experiement! I have made this with Coconut rum and Strawberry rum so far. Enjoy with your favorite!

Ingredients For name your flavor rum cake

  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 1 box
    yellow cake mix (18.25 oz)
  • 1 pkg
    vanilla instant pudding (3.4 oz)
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c
    rum
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c
    rum

How To Make name your flavor rum cake

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour 10" budnt pan and spread walnuts on bottom of pan.

    Combine cake mix and pudding. Add eggs, water, vegetable oil, and rum. Blend on medium speed for 2 minutes.

    Pour batter in bundt pan and bake for 60 minutes or until done. (Test with toothpick.)

    Let cool in pan for about 10 minutes and flip over to cake plate.

    For the glaze: Combined butter, water, and sugar in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil and continue for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining rum.

    Brush the glaze all over the warm cake until it is all soaked in and used. Enjoy your flavor!
