I took these to a family reunion this summer, and one of my cousins' sons is a police officer. He told me that these should be kept in the car at all times because they would get me out of a ticket any time!!

If you love butterscotch, these butterscotch brownies are a must. They're sweet and buttery same as the classic butterscotch flavor. Chewy, they just melt in your mouth with every bite. We opted to add the walnuts and loved the crunch and nutty flavor they add.

Ingredients For butterscotch brownies

  • 2 c
    flour-self rising
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 pkg
    butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 c
    butter, room temperature
  • 2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 4 lg
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    walnuts (optional)

How To Make butterscotch brownies

  • Flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

    Preheat oven to 350. In a small bowl mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • Brown sugar and melted butterscotch chips in a bowl.

    Melt chips in a microwave oven. Don't overheat. Go every 30 seconds, stir, and check if done. When done, transfer to a large bowl. Stir in brown sugar and let cool for 5 minutes!
  • Eggs, vanilla, flour, and nuts added to the bowl.

    Beat in eggs and vanilla. Then blend in the flour mixture. Stir in nuts.
  • Batter poured into a pan and brownies baking.

    Pour into jelly roll pan and bake for 30 minutes.
