Ingredients For black bottom cupcakes

  • 8 oz
    cream cheese
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    mini chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    (heaping) cocoa
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1/3 c
    oil
  • Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make black bottom cupcakes

    In a medium-sized bowl, combine the cream cheese, egg, 1/3 cup sugar, 1/8 tsp. salt, and 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Mix until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips.

    In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, 1 cup sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and the 1/2 tsp. salt.

    Add the water, oil, vinegar and the tablespoon of vanilla to the dry ingredients; stir until blended.

    Fill 18 paper-lined cupcake cups half-full with cake batter.

    Drop a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture into each cup. Then, using a spoon, lightly cover the cream cheese with the cake batter. This makes the tops more rounded.

    Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for about 30-35 minutes.
