Being from Washington we grow many wonderful apples. This can be eaten warm with cream on top as a pudding or cold as a cake. Either way you choose, it is delicious!

Ingredients For apple pudding

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/3 c
    shortening
  • 1
    egg well beaten
  • 1 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 c
    finely chopped or grated apples

How To Make apple pudding

  • 1
    Cream sugar, shortening and egg.
  • 2
    Sift flour with soda, cinnamon and nutmeg and add to wet mixture. Mix well and add chopped apples.

    Grease bottom of 8 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until toothpick test shows clean.

    May be served warm with cream as a pudding, or let cool and eat plain as a cake.
