I made a resolution to eat healthier in 2012, but I'm realistic enough to know that if I deny myself of the things I love, I'm sure to quit as soon as I begin. All things are in moderation with this healthy breakfast. Good-for-you oatmeal meets creamy, dreamy Nutella and then I topped it off with a few chopped walnuts and some sliced bananas. Ingredients For banana walnut oatmeal with nutella

  • 1 1/2 c
    skim milk
  • 1/4 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1 c
    oats, uncooked
  • 1 Tbsp
    nutella
  • 1
    banana, medium (6-7 inches)
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 Tbsp
    walnuts, chopped

How To Make banana walnut oatmeal with nutella

    In a medium saucepan, heat milk and salt over medium heat just until it comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low and stir in the oatmeal.

    Cook, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes, until most of the milk is absorbed. (If you use quick-coating oatmeal instead, it will take about 1 minute to cook.)

    Remove from the heat and stir in the Nutella.

    Spoon the oatmeal into bowls and top with sliced bananas, walnuts and brown sugar.
