Ingredients For cream-cheese filled coffee cake

  • CAKE
  • 2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter,softened
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 ml
    eggs
  • 2/3 c
    plain yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla
  • pecan halves for garnish
  • CREAM CHEESE FILLING
  • 8 oz
    1/3 less-fat cream cheese
  • 2 md
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    all-purpose flour
  • CREAM CHEESE ICING
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1/4 c
    heavy cream
  • 4 oz
    cream cheese @ rm. temp.
  • 2 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbsp
    water,plus extra,as needed

How To Make cream-cheese filled coffee cake

    preheat oven to 375 degrees

    Grease a 9-inch. bundt cake pan with butter and sprinkle with flour,shake off any excess.

    In med. bowl,whisk together flour,baking soda,baking powder,cinnamon,set aside

    In mixer bowl,cream together butter & sugar, beat til creamy.

    add eggs,one at a time,beating well after each addition

    Beat in yogurt & vanilla and continue to mix until thoroughly combined.

    keep mixer on low,slowly + flour mixture & continue to mix til well incorporated.

    Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared cake pan & using an offset spatula,spread the batter evenly & smooth it out.set aside.

    prepare the cream cheese filling by combining all ingredients in your mixer bowl,beat til smooth & thoroughly combined

    Drop the filling by spoonfuls over the cake batter

    top with remaing batter,& using an offset spatula, spread the batter evenly & smooth it out.

    Bake for 40 to 45 mins. or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean

    while cake is in the oven,prepare icing

    in mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar,heavy cream,cream cheese,water,& vanilla,beat til smooth,adding more water if needed,until the icing is spreadable.

    spread icing over cake and allow to set for 20 mins. add pecans on top of cake. slice & serve
