This is a great recipe for a special Christmas morning brunch. Every time I serve it, I am asked for the recipe. I got it from the Virtual Cities Internet Cookbook. It is a specialty at a bed and breakfast in Leavenworth, Washington.

Ingredients For sausage and apples breakfast casserole

  • 2 lb
    link sausages
  • 4 md
    golden delicious apples
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon

How To Make sausage and apples breakfast casserole

    Brown sausages and peel and slice apples.
  • 2
    Put one third of sausages in baking dish. Layer with one third of apples. Sprinkle with 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and 1/4 cup brown sugar.

    Repeat layers until you have three layers of sausage and three layers of apples, sprinkling with brown sugar and cinnamon after each layer of apples.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes stirring occasionally.
