Every Thanksgiving, we would have more than a dozen family and friends over for dinner. My mother would slice the day old bread and I would rip it up into a pan. We would do this every year, talking about our feelings, the past year and what we want in the future. I look forward to someday sharing this tradition with my children.

Ingredients For lockwood family stuffing

  • 1 pkg
    jimmy dean mild sausage
  • 3
    eggs
  • 3
    empire apples (peeled and diced)
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 2
    loaves of texas toast
  • 1 Tbsp
    celery salt
  • 2 tsp
    pepper
  • 2 tsp
    salt

How To Make lockwood family stuffing

  • 1
    Cook sausage and diced apples on stove, set aside to cool. Remove the crust from the bread and crumble into large pan for mixing.

    Add Sausage mixture, eggs, milk, celery seed, salt and pepper into pan. Mix with hands, adding more milk until all bread is moist. Season to taste.

    This recipe is for 2 people, double recipe as needed. Put in a ovenproof dish at 350 degrees F for 60 minutes. Enjoy!!
