I love the taste of Pillsbury French Loaf (I call it Tube Bread) and I make a lot of things with it besides French bread. Whenever I want dinner rolls I just open a tube, cut it into 8 pieces and in almost no time, voila! - Dinner Rolls

Ingredients For semi-homemade sourdough dinner rolls

  • 1 tube
    pillsbury french loaf
  • butter flavored non-stick spray

How To Make semi-homemade sourdough dinner rolls

  • 1
Spray a baking pan with non-stick spray. Unroll the dough from the tube and set into the pan. Cut the dough in half, then each piece in half, giving you 4 pieces. Cut each piece in half again.
  • 2
This step is optional but it makes the rolls really pretty. Gently roll each piece in your hands then fold the two cut sides towards each other to form a round ball.
  • 3
Pinch the cut sides together very well, as you would when making pizza dough or mozzarella cheese. Put the pinched side on the bottom and repeat this for all 8 pieces.
  • 4
Evenly space each piece around the pre-sprayed a cake pan or baking dish. If desired, with a sharp knive cut a slit into the top of each roll.
  • 5
Put them into the oven with the light on and let them rest/rise for 30 minutes or so. If you're in a hurry just skip this step.
  • 6
Preheat oven to 350 and bake for 15-17 minutes or until tops are golden brown. Yummm!

Options: sprinkle each roll with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or work garlic powder or herbs into the dough before forming into rolls. Brush top with egg whites if desired.
