This was my grandmother's recipe. My grandmother was born in 1900, so this recipe was had a long life. By sharing it, I hope it continues to live on. This dough will last in the fridge for a few days.

Ingredients For yeast biscuits

  • 1 pkg
    yeast
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 2 c
    warm water
  • 1/2 c
    oil
  • 4 c
    self-rising flour

How To Make yeast biscuits

  • 1
    Mix sugar and yeast with warm water.
  • 2
    Add oil and part of flour.
  • 3
    Chill in the fridge overnight, covered with an oiled cloth.
  • 4
    Drop into greased muffin tins.
  • 5
    Bake at 400-425 for 20 minutes.
