mediterranean tuna salad

Whether you eat this on crusty bread, in a tomato, or spoon it onto your favorite cracker, it is delicious.

Ingredients For mediterranean tuna salad

  • 5 oz
    tuna packed in water drained
  • 1/4 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1/4 c
    kalamata olives chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    purple onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    celery
  • 1 Tbsp
    capers
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped fresh basil
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp
    finely chopped roasted red peppers
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • tomatoes are optional

How To Make mediterranean tuna salad

    In a bowl, place drained tuna, purple onion, and celery.Stir together.

    Then add mayonnaise, and lemon juice and mix together with tuna, onion, and celery.

    Now add Kalamata olives, roasted red peppers, basil, and capers. Blend these ingredients into the mixture. Taste. Then add salt and pepper.

    I use this recipe as an appetizer. I place a spoonful of the mixture onto a thin slice of crusty bread, and a slice of tomato. My husband loves to stuff a tomato with this mixture and have it for lunch.
