First off, this is NOT an original recipe by any stretch. We've been making them in my family for YEARS. I've seen them made with little sausages, too, and strips of crescent roll dough. But this is just your basic recipe & I'm only posting it because I want my kids to be able to find it online. =^..^=

Ingredients For pigs in blankets

  • 1 can
    refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 8
    hot dogs
  • some
    cheese, if desired
  • your
    favorite condiments for dipping

How To Make pigs in blankets

  • 1
Separate the crescent roll dough into 8 triangles.
  • 2
If you want cheesy dogs, slice the hot dog ALMOST in half, lengthwise. Stuff the hot dog with long strips of cheese, about 1/2 of a slice, per dog, but suit yourself. If you don't want the cheese, just leave that hot dog alone.

Starting at the point of the crescent roll triangle, roll the hot dog up. Place it on an ungreased cookie sheet with the cheese up, if using cheese, or with the final point underneath, if not. Or whatever.

Bake at 375* degrees F. for about 10-12 minutes, or until the roll is browned all over & the cheese is melted. Remove the "pigs" to a cooling rack or just toss them on your plate. Be prepared to dip into your favorite condiments.

*I use non-stick cookie sheets so I set my oven for 350 degrees F. to avoid over-browning on the bottom.
