I first enjoyed this cheese ball when I visited the Wisconsin Masonic Home with the North America Masonic Homes Executive Association Group. I couldn't get enough - but then I am a classified cheese-nut. I make these and store them in the freezer and then when I need something in a hurry it's ready. I make these and give them as gifts for those who serve me daily. Everyone likes them and ask that I remember them again. Be sure to serve room temp for best flavor. Who doesn't like cheese!

Ingredients For party cheese ball

  • 1 lb
    cream cheese
  • 1 lb
    sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 lb
    swiss cheese
  • 1/2 c
    sweet onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • pecans chopped

How To Make party cheese ball

  • 1
Grate cheddar and Swiss cheese and let aside to come to room temperature. It grates better when it is cold but easier to mix when room temp. Don't forget the cream cheese needs warming, too.
  • 2
Grate the onion and mix it in with the cheese. I mix the cream cheese, separately and then add to the hard cheese with the mixed onion.
  • 3
    Add the Worcestershire sauce.
  • 4
Mix all ingredients together except for the pecans and place on a square of waxed paper. Chill 30-minutes.
  • 5
    Finely chop pecans.
  • 6
With hands, shape cheese into a ball and roll in chopped nuts or, for a party, finely chopped parsley is pretty. Place in refrigerator (or freezer) and enjoy.
