Diane, I love living or visiting places that have a lot of natural beauty and wildlife in them too. We have thought about possibly moving to retreat area's such as one in Crossville Tenn., their is a retreat area in the Cumberland mountains where people live as a community but purchase several acre lots and build log cabins or houses (or small second homes) on them. It is nestled very far from the local town and way up in the mountains and beside a hugh beautiful lake that has a swimming beach and most people love to take boats out and fish 24/7. My family are real outdoors people and we love being out doors, camping, fishing, hiking, swimming in lakes, etc. I could only imagine how beautiful your location is also!

Jan, thank you so much..so nice hearing from you! They are delicious..the icing is very good over top each brownie..also love the moist and chewiness of them especially with nuts in them.♥

We live in the woods and yes lot's of wildlife here. Deer, rabbit,squirrels, possum, racoons, snakes (eww) and I've seen a bobcat. We have a fence around our gardens and I think the deer must be parachuting in...ha!

I agree, they are easy to make and very delicious too! I think that is so nice that the store manager is going out of his way to help you regarding vegetables..sounds like you live in a very friendly town. I can't blame you for making brownies for them! Also, I think these brownie's are a great way for thanking someone for returning their kindness, or great for guests. Sorry the deer have destroyed one of your gardens..oh no, all that work for nothing..lol! It sure does sound like you have a lot of wildlife where you live!

I was in our grocery store today and the produce manager came out to tell me how much they enjoyed the brownies I took to them on Tuesday. Deer have destroyed one of our gardens and he is picking up vegetables for us when he goes to market at his cost. I'm thrilled to be getting the veggies. What a super nice thing he has done for us. I love giving goodies as a thank you. And, this brownie recipe will be my go to recipe for just that. They are easy and delish.

Thank you CinStraw..I am very pleased with how they turned out too! They are delicious..nice to know a good brownie recipe to make for our guests, or like Diane mentioned earlier, which greatly inspired me, give to people as a way to say thank you for something good they have done for us!
