This is the photo of the pie I made this afternoon. Used two pints of strawberries. Not quite a "mile" high but it's still going to be a fantastic dessert for after dinner tonight. 5/13/16
Can't believe it's been almost 4 years since I first made this pie. It is so simple to make and so delicious! This time I used a frozen deep dish pie shell. I didn't pile the strawberries quite as high as I'm taking it to church tomorrow.
One slice of heaven on a place.
YUMMY! It is sooooo DELISH!!!
The strawberries kindof slid off
the piece of pie; but you can tell that there are PLENTY of strawberries to eat with this one piece of pie. 5/26/12
This is the end result of Mile High Strawberry Pie...placed in a
9" pie crust. You can see the
extra strawberry glaze leaking on the stove. YUMMY! Can you tell how high the pie is? 5/26/12
I cooked the water, sugar and corn starch mixture for about 4 minutes after it just started to boil. When it was thickened I added the strawberry jello and mixed it in until it was well incorporated. Strawberries are now ready 2 put in pie shell.
I like getting things together before starting to bake. So I put the 4 T corn starch in a small bowl, measured the 1 1/2 cups water and put the 1 1/2 cups of sugar in the saucepan. Ready to go. 5/26/12
This is a picture of the two
trays of strawberries (2 qts)
that I bought to make this pie.
DID NOT use all of them. Washed and hulled them last night. 5/26/12
