I made this for Valentine's Day. This is a half recipe of the cake - I baked it in two small 6-inch round cake pans. Baked for about 10 minutes. So cute! LOVE this recipe!!!
My son requested this cake for his 13th b-day. The photo isn't anything special, but the cake is the best we've ever had. It's been requested 3 times in the last 2 months!!!
Lisa thank you so much for your black magic cake recipe, I make my cousins wedding cake last May 5, 2012 everybody like it..this is the picture of te cake...
Black Magic Cake. Here's what's left of the 9X13 cake that I made yesterday...and It's just me and my husband here to eat it...and we haven't had our piece today yet as we've been gone most of the day. 4/26/12
Thanks Lisa so much for posting this recipe. I have made it three times already! It is fabulous! My fiance/friends/family also thank you!! (I had to share :)
Here's the Black Magic Cake I made today for my hubby's birthday. I made the mistake of adding too many mini chips and they melted and stuck to the pan a little but that's OK. It stayed together for the most part, so moist and delicious:)
Decided against layers and went with a bundt pan. I garnished with a little ganache and toasted coconut...OMG so delicious! Rave reviews! Have since shared this recipe with my sister and Mom. Thank you!
Sorry I didn't get back to you any sooner. It was a Buttercream recipe I found on the Wilson website I believe, I sifted a small amount of dark chocolate cocoa in but it didn't flavor it, so it was pointless, it was a deliscious recipe as well. I'm going to try it again this weekend for a wedding shower cake....will hopefully post photos later :)
How did the frosting turn out so light? Did you use the frosting recipe included in this same recipe? If not, can you tell me what you used, please! Thanks so much!!! Looks yummy!!!
