When I was 12 years old, my "Granny" (Dad's Mom) taught me how to bake desserts, cakes, etc. She and my grandfather were farmers and raised hogs. I had to go live with them in 7th grade because my Dad was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer (was in the Air Force--a pilot) and was sent to San Antonio (military hospital) and gone with my Mom for that year.

Boy! I was soooooooo happy living on the farm. I learned a lot from both of my grandparents.

After that, I caught the "cooking bug" and still have the "bug" to this day. Currently retired and living in East Tennessee near the Smokies.
