Crock Pot Cooking for the Cooler Weather

Cassie's Crock Pot Chicken and Noodles

From air fryers to sous vides and pressure cookers, my kitchen cabinets are crowded with gadgets. But there is one tried and true machine I go back to - my slow cooker. Especially when the weather is cooler I find myself pulling it out of the cabinet because you can prepare so many different types of recipes in the slow cooker.

Paula Anderson's (Kingswood, TX) Crock Pot Apple Butter makes some of the best apple butter I've ever eaten. It turns out rich and silky. While this simmers in the slow cooker, your kitchen will smell like apple cider. Spread the finished product on a slice of toast, stir into yogurt, or serve alongside pork chops. Yum!

Shopping the weekly circular is a great way to save money when planning a menu. When I see an eye roast on sale, I like to make Judy Wisniewski's (Pennsauken, NJ) Tasty Crock Pot Eye Roast.

"In an effort to get a great meal when I am working or have stuff to do, I find myself using my Crock Pot a lot," shares Judy. "Because it is a lean roast I often find it a bit tough. Not this time it was fork tender and tasted delish."

This recipe is a tasty weeknight dinner option. I loved the mushroom gravy that gets spooned over the finished product. It's rich and packed with flavor. Serve with fluffy mashed potatoes and I guarantee there won't be any leftovers.

The homemade barbecue sauce on Dana Ramsey's Crock Pot Country Style Ribs With Maple BBQ Sauce is fantastic. Very easy to prepare, it's sweet, tangy, smoky and a tad spicy.

"I work full-time and don't get home until 5:30 so until I get things around to make my dinner it is pretty late," explains Dana. "That is why I love using my Crock Pot! I can come home to an amazing meal. These ribs are so yummy and easy to make. My husband absolutely loved them. He even admitted to sneaking a bite or two before I got home!"

The ribs turn out so tender and are delicious smothered with the homemade barbecue sauce. This recipe makes you wonder why you spend time over a hot grill preparing ribs.

Cassie's Comforting Chicken & Noodles is an incredible Crock Pot meal. Not only is it hearty, rich and delicious, but it's also so easy to make.

"I made this easy, tasty meal for my mom to help out while ill," says Cassie. "She loved it."

Cooking the chicken low and slow for several hours makes it tender. The noodles take on the flavor of the chicken and the creamy soup to make the whole pot irresistible. Even your pickiest eater will clean their plate.

"I keep making this because we love it, especially on a 'soup' day," reveals Danielle Sprueill (Mountain Center, CA). "It's delicious and easy. It's very adjustable to your own liking."

Danielle's Crock Pot Chicken Enchilada Soup will warm ya up on a cold night. The ingredients give it a Southwest flair. It's tasty on its own, but the toppings take it over the top! Throw everything in the Crock Pot and let it do its magic.

When looking to throw together an easy recipe that's full of flavor, pull out the slow cooker and get crockin'. What's your favorite thing to prepare in the Crock Pot? Share a link to it below and Happy Pinching!
