With money so tight for many of us, we need to have ways to strech our food budgets.
I have raised four daughters (and a husband) on as little as $30 a week at times, and I know there are many out there who are struggling just as hard.
So lets break out those Wartime, Deppresion and any other cookbooks you may have and see what we can come up with to help. I am in the process of writing a cookbook to help those who are struggling, so please post any and all tips you may have.
What a great idea to start this site! Who today isn't trying to svae on their grocery bill. I know I'm always looking for ways to save. Especially since I went back to school, I only work p/t now. So money is a lttle tight. Can't wait to try some of the recipes!
Are any of you seeing the ad for PoliceAuction.com over to the right of your page? I have seen it so often that I decided to check out what folks are saying about them. For the most part people are saying it is a scam. Has anyone actually had any experience with them?
Tub Cleaner - vinegar and dish soap, no scrubbing! Heat 1/2C white vinegar in m'wave for 90 sec, pour int spray bottle. Add 1/2C BLUE Dawn dish soap. Shake gently to mix. Spray on surface, let it sit 1-2 hours. Just wipe it away then rinse with water. Should also take soap scum off shower doors. THIS WORKS GREAT...rinse because it will be slippery.
I have found it very useful to purchase meats in bulk...and slicing it for my husbands lunchs,(we do this with smoked ham) but I have recently found it a problem to get the right beef for roasting and slicing...does anyone know what i should be purchasing and how it should be roasted?
