Stretching those food dollars

With money so tight for many of us, we need to have ways to strech our food budgets.

I have raised four daughters (and a husband) on as little as $30 a week at times, and I know there are many out there who are struggling just as hard.

So lets break out those Wartime, Deppresion and any other cookbooks you may have and see what we can come up with to help. I am in the process of writing a cookbook to help those who are struggling, so please post any and all tips you may have.

Freezing Cheese??

Anyone know if I can freeze the logs of Mozzarella cheese from Costco? They come vacum sealed. This is the soft cheese, not the grated bags.

Freeze Mushrooms??

Does anyone know if I can freeze sauteed mushrooms? Since they are all water, I did not want to freeze before cooking. I don't need them until next week, but they won't keep.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Watch out for this scam

Are any of you seeing the ad for over to the right of your page? I have seen it so often that I decided to check out what folks are saying about them. For the most part people are saying it is a scam. Has anyone actually had any experience with them?

Tub Cleaner

Tub Cleaner - vinegar and dish soap, no scrubbing! Heat 1/2C white vinegar in m'wave for 90 sec, pour int spray bottle. Add 1/2C BLUE Dawn dish soap. Shake gently to mix. Spray on surface, let it sit 1-2 hours. Just wipe it away then rinse with water. Should also take soap scum off shower doors. THIS WORKS GREAT...rinse because it will be slippery.
